Hello friends!
We are almost at the end of 2024 (where did that go!)
I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all of you who attend my classes week in week out, owing time to yourself and showing up on your mat to move your body and look after yourself in this fast paced life we all live in.
You may have noticed that I have changed the name of my 'Stretch and Release' class to 'Slow Flow' which doesn't mean I have changed the structure of the class but felt this name was more suitable, we still emphasise on stretching with some 'flow' elements of yoga moving from one pose to another, including some standing postures. I offer a Monday morning at 10am and a Tuesday evening at 5.30pm at the MMC (Mountsorrel Memorial Centre, just 5 minutes from Loughborough).
Thank you to those who attend and are enjoying my Thursday morning Pilates class, I plan to start running an evening Pilates class in the new year so watch this space. :D For those of you who aren't sure of the difference between yoga and pilates.....here it is!
Yoga is fantastic for mobility, flexibility, stability, stretching and also calming the mind as we link movement to breath. We all need these components in our every day lives.
Pilates is excellent for strengthening our core muscles, which is really important to help support our lower backs especially for those who have had issues with lower back.....we also gain stability, flexibility, and mobility during pilates....but certainly there is more of a strength component to pilates with a few planks added in. We also used balls and bands to keep it exciting! I treat many patients in clinic with chronic lower back pain and the medicine I give is exercise! Movement really is medicine.
At the moment I am running an offer of refer a friend during December and January and receive any class of your choice for free! What a superb Christmas present! :D
In closing, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
See you on your yoga/pilates mats in the New Year.
