Finally British Summer time 2025 is here and we can now look forward to the longer evenings, brighter days and watching the flowers and trees blossom!
What has been happening over here at Amanda Mason yoga and pilates? My clinical pilates class is blossoming very well which runs every Thursday morning at 9.15am at the beautiful Mountsorrel library. Some of you may be wondering how clinical pilates is different to a traditional pilates class. Clinical pilates has the foundations of a traditional pilates class, but I offer a unique experience with my expertise as a clinician to include specialised and safe rehabilitative exercises during the class. There is more emphasis on strength work in Pilates, in particular for the core, which is especially important for those with lower back complaints. Pilates is also excellent for improving overall mobility and improving posture so really is an excellent all round exercise for everyone, including beginners.
My two weekly stretch and release classes run every Monday at 10am and Tuesday at 5.30pm at Mountsorrel Memorial Centre, which is just 5 minutes from Loughborough. This is a slower paced class with a mixture of both floor based and standing postures. Yoga is excellent for improving mobility, flexibility, balance and stability and you don't need to be able to touch your toes in order to do yoga, quite the opposite! Yoga is for ALL and is about working with YOUR body and is ideal for beginners.
